Selling dietary supplements on TikTok Shop US has two gates. The first belongs to TikTok: the category is invite-only. The second is regulatory: once invited, you must prove the facility’s FDA registration, show cGMP certification, submit a recent lab report and send photos of the real label.

REGISTRO-FDA.US prepares the regulatory side. That means FDA registration with the U.S. Agent included, the DUNS number included if the facility needs one, an FDA registration verification letter to submit to TikTok, and a label review before you print.

FDA renewal 2026: the deadline is December 31. TikTok requires the registration to be valid at the time you submit it. FDA treats supplements as food, and food facilities renew between October 1 and December 31 of every even-numbered year. If a registration is not renewed by December 31, 2026, FDA considers it expired. FDA charges no fee to register or renew (FDA notice, September 29, 2026). Renew My FDA Registration

The two gates for selling supplements on TikTok Shop

GateWhat it involvesWho decides
Category invitationTikTok invites selected sellers through their Account ManagerTikTok Shop
Regulatory documentsCurrent FDA registration, cGMP, lab report and a compliant labelTikTok reviews them; you prepare them with your manufacturer, your lab and us

TikTok Shop’s dietary supplements requirements, updated October 9, 2026, say sellers must be invited to the category and should contact their Account Manager to learn more. FDA registration does not earn you the invitation. What it does is let you respond in days, not weeks, once the invitation arrives.

Which supplements TikTok allows and which it prohibits

Allowed for invited sellers: beauty supplements, fitness supplements, vitamin, mineral and wellness supplements, herbal supplements, and sexual wellness supplements (such as testosterone boosters). For sexual enhancement and bodybuilding products, the lab report must also screen for known adulterants under NSF/ANSI 173-2024.

Prohibited, even for invited sellers (the list is not exhaustive):

Dose limit: if a single serving exceeds the Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) set by the U.S. National Institutes of Health for a vitamin or mineral, TikTok freezes the listing without notice. Editing the serving size on the listing does not fix it: reinstatement requires reformulating the product and submitting a new certificate of analysis. That is why the formula and label should be reviewed before production.

Documents TikTok requires from manufacturers, importers and repackers

DocumentWhat TikTok requiresHow we help
Proof of FDA registrationA third-party verification letter or a screenshot from the official FDA website (details below)We handle the registration and issue the verification letter
cGMP certificateValid at submission and confirming compliance with 21 CFR 111Issued by a certification body; we tell you what to ask your manufacturer for
Lab test reportAt least one report from the last 180 days, from a lab TikTok acceptsDone by the lab; we tell you what it must cover
Label photosClear, unedited photos of the physical package: front, back and sidesWe review the label before you print

The proof of FDA registration must show:

A third-party letter must display the issuer’s name and contact information. A screenshot must clearly show it was taken from the official FDA website.

The lab report must include microbiological, heavy metals, contaminant (pesticides or residual solvents) and potency testing, with each active ingredient within the permitted tolerance. TikTok accepts reports from its partner labs (including Eurofins, NSF, SGS, UL Solutions, Intertek, Bureau Veritas and Certified Laboratories), from an in-house lab accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, or from an in-house lab backed by a cGMP certificate. The report must also show the same company name and address as the selling account.

Resellers of other brands follow a different path: a purchase invoice from the last 180 days for at least 400 units, in the selling account’s name, plus the lab report and label photos.

The step that fails most often: names that must match

TikTok cross-checks names across documents:

If your brand uses a contract manufacturer and the label only says “Distributed by [your brand],” the manufacturer’s registration proof may not line up with what TikTok sees on the package.

Example: a Miami brand sells a magnesium supplement made by a contract manufacturer in Mexico and wants to list it on TikTok Shop US. Before printing, it should:

  1. Confirm the Mexican facility is registered with FDA and current, with a U.S. Agent and a DUNS number.
  2. Decide how the manufacturer appears on the label so it matches the registration.
  3. Order the lab report in the name of the company that will own the TikTok account.

These checks are part of our label review and registration work.

FDA registration, U.S. Agent, DUNS and verification letter

Every foreign facility that registers with FDA must designate a U.S. Agent. FDA also requires a unique facility identifier (UFI). It currently accepts the DUNS number, and the address tied to the DUNS must match the registration.

Our FDA registration plan includes:

Full details are on our FDA facility registration page.

For facilities whose registration we manage, an FDA registration verification letter is available to submit to TikTok Shop. TikTok makes the final acceptance decision. FDA does not issue registration certificates, so the letter is a REGISTRO-FDA.US document, not an FDA one.

Label: review it before you print and photograph

TikTok only accepts photos of the physical package. Digital mockups, design files and edited images are not accepted, so the label has to be right before it goes to print. Here is what TikTok checks in the photos, and what we review:

We send you a report with the changes to make.

Claims: the risk is in your videos and listing too

TikTok prohibits the following in titles, images and descriptions:

If you make a structure/function claim (for example, “supports immune health”), the FDA disclaimer must appear on the label and on the product listing. FDA also requires you to notify it of that claim within 30 days after you start marketing the product (FDA on supplement claims).

TikTok’s enforcement is tiered. A first claims violation deactivates the listing, and you can fix it and reactivate. From the second violation on, the listing is frozen until TikTok reviews the case.

Importing into the U.S.: Prior Notice and FSVP

If the supplements ship from another country:

How we work

  1. Tell us about your operation: what you sell, where it is made and packed, and whether you already have a TikTok invitation.
  2. We review the supply chain and the names that must match across the label, the registration and the selling account.
  3. We register: for each facility we ask for two official or commercial documents showing the same name and address. If you need it, we issue the verification letter.
  4. We review your label before you print and photograph the package.

What we do: FDA facility registration (new and renewal), U.S. Agent, DUNS number if needed, FDA registration verification letter, dietary supplement label review and Prior Notice.

What is not included: the TikTok invitation, cGMP certification and laboratory testing. TikTok decides on invitations; accredited certification bodies and labs handle certification and testing.

Also selling on Amazon? Verification works differently there: see FDA registration for selling dietary supplements on Amazon US.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell supplements on TikTok Shop without an invitation?

No. Under TikTok Shop’s policy dated October 9, 2026, the dietary supplements category is for invited sellers only. TikTok says to contact your Account Manager.

Does FDA registration get me into TikTok Shop?

No. TikTok decides on invitations. FDA registration is one of the documents TikTok asks for once you are invited, so it should be ready and current.

What proof of FDA registration does TikTok accept?

A third-party verification letter or a screenshot from the official FDA website. It must show the establishment name (matching the manufacturer or importer on the label), its address, its operation type and that the registration is valid. If we manage your registration, the verification letter is available.

Does my company need FDA registration if a contract manufacturer makes the product?

The facility that makes and packs the product must be registered. Your sales office does not register as a factory just because it owns the brand. For TikTok, what matters is that the registration matches the manufacturer or importer on the label.

Does TikTok accept label mockups?

No. TikTok requires clear, unedited photos of the physical package. That is why we recommend reviewing the label before printing.

How recent must the lab report be?

No more than 180 days old. It must also come from a lab TikTok accepts and show the same company name and address as the selling account.

What happens if my supplement exceeds the maximum dose of a vitamin or mineral?

TikTok freezes the listing without notice. Reinstatement requires reformulating the product and submitting a new certificate of analysis; editing the listing is not enough.

Is a DUNS number the same as FDA registration?

No. DUNS is the identifier FDA accepts for the facility. It is included in our FDA registration plan if the facility does not have one yet.

Have your documents ready before the invitation arrives

A TikTok invitation can come at any time, and the regulatory documents take the longest: a current registration, a compliant label, and names that match across every document. Get them ready now.
